Ajax superstar Hakim Ziyech is reported to be leaving the Dutch side to join Chelsea in the next summer transfer window.

According to Sky Sports, the Blues are closing in on signing Hakim Ziyech for a deal worth £38 million and is likely to be announced in a couple of days.

Here are few reasons why Hakim Ziyech will thrive at Stamford Bridge.

  • Ziyech’s playing style

In many ways the Moroccan winger’s playing style resembles Willian. His left footed dribbling, passing and shooting looks similar to the Chelsea’s right footed Brazilian winger.

  • Fits in Lampard’s team perfectly

Ziyech usually plays on the right wing but he can also play as a No 10, the positions that Chelsea have been looking to strengthen for a while now.

Christian Pulisic and Mason Mount are competing for a start on the left wing but the competition for the opposite flank has been weak.

  • Prolific play-maker

The 26-year-old has scored eight goals and also assisted 21 times in 29 matches across all competitions for Ajax this season.

He scored more than 20 goals in all competitions for Ajax last season as they reached semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League.

  • Pull away from Top 4 competition

Chelsea are currently sitting in the 4th position in the league table and have surprised everyone this season by competing for top 4 despite losing Eden Hazard without any replacements.

But the signing of Ziyech could help the Blues pull away from Top 4 competition next season with the likes Tottenham, Manchester United and Arsenal all going through familiar long-term rebuilding phase.
