Real Madrid and Liverpool have turned their attention to Italy as they are both keen on securing the services of Inter Milan’s star midfielder.

Real Madrid and Liverpool both claim the top spots in La Liga and the Premier League, but that has not stopped them from thinking of transfer targets that would help them maintain their primacy. Fans are often reading rumors that link key players with moves away from these elite clubs, but a few reports claim that the European giants are focused on adding more quality in midfield.

According to a new report from SempreInter, Zinedine Zidane is keen on pursuing Inter Milan’s Croatian star Marcelo Brozovic this summer. The report goes on to say that Zidane is convinced that Brozovic would be the perfect partner for Casemiro in the middle of the park.

Another report from the same source made note of the fact that Liverpool have sent their scouts to watch Brozovic this past weekend in the Derby della Madonnina between Inter Milan and AC Milan. One can assume that Liverpool’s scouts had plenty of notes for Jurgen Klopp seeing that Brozovic played 90 minutes and scored a wonderful volley to spark the Nerazzurri’s comeback in the second half.

Good Option for Both Clubs?

Brozovic would be a a great addition to both clubs. Some of you reading this might make the argument that Real Madrid and Liverpool are already stacked with talent in midfield, which is true, but all top teams maintain their elite status through internal competition. At 27, Brozovic is still in his prime and the experience he has as a player is unmatched by many of his peers.

Brozovic has competed in the 2014 and 2018 World Cup tournaments, as well as the EURO 2016 tournament with Croatia. On top of that, the Croatian has played in over 150 Serie A games for Inter Milan, and has 17 appearances in European competitions with the Italian giants.

Brozovic is not known as a midfielder who can score many goals, but he makes up for it with his vision and ability to create big plays for others. La Liga and the Premier League are very different from the Italian top flight and it might take Brozovic some time to adapt, but he is a quality player who is worthy of a chance.
