The German striker has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool and he should be the number one transfer target for the Reds over Jadon Sancho.
Things are looking good for Liverpool right now. The mighty 22 point gap at the top of the Premier League table has left them in a universe of their own.
Anfield is perpetually vibrant with colours and flags and swaying with the incessant adoration of the club’s fans. The noise inside the famous ground is as boisterous as it was during the club’s heyday in the 1980s or under Bill Shankly. Sometimes you could hardly hear yourself think.
It is easy to see why the Kopites are in such awe.

The swift movement. The silky attacking football. The passion. The hunger. The energy. Liverpool are scintillating to watch and bring pure unbridled entertainment.
They are probably the best side in world football at the moment. To most Liverpool fans that notion will feel like an idyllic dream. It is difficult to fathom as reality.
Being the best side in the world will mean Liverpool have hegemony over the transfer market. They could attract any player in the world.
It has seen the likes of Jadon Sancho and Kylian Mbappe being linked with potential moves. But Jurgen Klopp should look a little bit more closer to home.
According to The Athletic via the Daily Mirror Timo Werner has been ‘mentioned’ as a possible summer transfer target for the Reds and Jurgen Klopp should make his fellow compatriot the number one priority in the summer transfer window.
Liverpool’s front three will have to endure a toiling schedule next season with Mohamed Salah expected to play in the Olympics in August and the African Cup of Nations in the winter for his country Egypt. Sadio Mane is likewise expected to compete in AFCON 2020.
That will leave the Reds with two of their best players missing for key parts of the season. A huge gaping hole will have to be filled and Timo Werner is the perfect player to do it.
Unlike Sancho or Mbappe who both play on the wing, the arrival of Timo Werner will not force one of the club’s current trio to sit on the bench.
Timo Werner is an out-and-out forward who could play in the Roberto Firmino role with the Brazilian shifting to a midfield position which he has played at Liverpool before and during his time at Hoffeinheim.
Bringing in Timo Werner will mean Jurgen Klopp could still field his frightening trio with even more firepower upfront in the prolific German.
In the absence of Salah and Mane, Werner can also play on the wing thanks to his rapid pace which could provide important cover.
Timo Werner is the perfect signing for Jurgen Klopp’s side. The club should do everything in their power to get the deal done.
What do you think, should Liverpool sign Timo Werner over Sancho?
