Well, no Arsenal fan would have seen this coming…
The January transfer window served Arsenal well, but supporters always expected bigger things to be happening in the summer. Cedric Soares and Pablo Mari were brought in on loan to strengthen the defence until the summer, where Mikel Arteta will really improve the squad.
The Spaniard spent many years learning under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City and he used his insight to decide on the two loanees. But he will be excited to tackle the summer window, where he will expect plenty of investment from the Arsenal board.
According to The Sun, Arteta already has his eye on one player. The English outlet has reported that Arsenal are considering a move for Isco in the summer. It’s thought they will face competition from Chelsea.

Real Madrid will inevitably be looking to add some financial backing to their summer window as they wish to make some big moves. That said, not only will they value Isco rather highly but they will also be more inclined to sell him.
Let’s face it, Mesut Ozil is not the player he once was and at this point, he probably never will be. I have held hope for the last few seasons and I thought it would finally pay off under Arteta but it hasn’t.
Consequently, Arsenal could either use Ozil to lower the price of Isco or simply sell him to another club in order to raise their own funds.
Isco would be a vast improvement. Not only is he younger (ageing at 27) but he also shows a lot more skill on the ball than the former Madrid player. That said, he will make a great addition to this Arsenal side and improve Arteta’s options straight away.
Do you think Arsenal are making the right decision in considering Isco?
