3. The momentum from January is on United’s side

January seems like a long time ago, doesn’t it? However, Manchester United fans will remember the longevity of the Bruno Fernandes deal and how relieved they felt come the end of the saga having signed him.

He made his debut against Wolverhampton Wanderers and though many berated his performance after the match on social media, this was purely reactionary. He actually put in a solid performance despite not getting a goal or an assist.

Manchester United fans will be the first to admit, they can’t wait to see more of him. He is a technically gifted player that has an impressive range of passing.

More from Manchester United

It’s big games like this which Manchester United paid the big money for and I have no doubt he will start in the midfield. His role will be to act as the anchor between midfield and attack and he will break the lines, allowing his attackers plenty of opportunities at goal.

Chelsea, on the other hand, had a disappointing January transfer window and the repercussions of this transcended to the dressing room, where Frank Lampard was known to have depleted morale.

Whether this still stands remains to be seen but it can’t be a good thing for the players, who expected new arrivals.
