Erling Haaland continued his breakout season by scoring twice in Borussia Dortmund’s win over PSG.

Borussia Dortmund knew they were getting a player with tremendous upside when they signed Erling Haaland from RB Salzburg. But not even they could have envisioned how good he would be right now.

Erling Haaland’s two goals against PSG upped his total number of Champions League goals up to 10 which is more than some teams including Barcelona. His amazing run of form is made more impressive by the fact that he is only 19 years old.

According to ESPN, Haaland became the fastest player to reach double-digit goals in the Champions League and the second youngest to score 10.

Moving to the Bundesliga has not phased him in the slightest and seems to have made the right choice in choosing Dortmund over the likes of RB Leipzig and Manchester United. At Dortmund, he’s getting every opportunity to play and he’s repaying that trust in the process.

He offers Dortmund something they haven’t had in a while which is a bona fide goalscorer. He also does not appear to be rattled by the big stage as evidenced by the second goal. The same cannot be said about PSG.

Crumbling in the knockout round of the Champions League has become PSG’s calling card and their opponents know this,

According to ESPN, Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke said,

"“We are the deserved winners. There is maximum pressure on Paris now. We have good chances to progress in the second leg. For Paris a world will be falling apart if they are eliminated. That’s why we hold a psychological advantage over them.”"

The sky is the limit for Haaland which is both good and bad news for Dortmund. The better he does, the more attention he’ll draw from the big teams around Europe.

For now they’ll continue to enjoy and hope he can continue this run of performances. For a team who needed Inter Milan to lose to Barcelona in the last game of the group stage in order to advance, they are sitting pretty right now.

Should Rangers carry on with Steven Gerrard as manager?. dark. Next

With a player like Haaland, they went from being one of the team’s others wouldn’t mind facing to a team with momentum who are now a dark horse with a shot at winning the whole thing. No team looks invincible and as we saw in Atletico Madrid’s win over Liverpool, anything is possible.
