LB: Mattia De Sciglio

It has been a while since Alex Sandro has gotten a day off for Juventus and I think this match is the perfect opportunity to let him rest. SPAL’s attack shouldn’t cause Juve any trouble, even on the road and Mattia De Sciglio is finally healthy again.

De Scigilio should be up to the task of serving as his replacement against the last place team in Italy. The timing of this matchup couldn’t have worked out much better for Juve with the Champions League on the horizon.

CB: Matthijs de Ligt

Matthijs de Ligt got the day off against Brescia, but should slide right back into the starting lineup against SPAL with Leonardo Bonucci unavailable. He has been a solid player on the defensive end this season, but he is now likely fighting to keep his starting spot. Let’s see if some new competition can help de Lift elevate his play to the next level.

CB: Giorgio Chiellini

The day we’ve all been patiently waiting for is finally here. I think Maurizio Sarri would be a little more cautious with Giorgio Chiellini under normal circumstances, but Leonardo Bonucci’s suspension should see Chiellini return to the starting lineup.

He managed to play 16 minutes without issue against Brescia and I’m sure Sarri would like to know whether or not Chiellini is an option for the Champions League match next week.

I don’t think he’ll be asked to put in a full 90 minutes, but I do expect to see him get the start and play 60 before Daniele Rugani comes on as a sub. Hopefully he can make it through completely healthy and lead Juve’s run in the Champions League.

RB: Danilo

I thought it would take a string of solid performances for Danilo to win this starting job back from Juan Cuadrado, but it turns out all he really needed was for Juventus to change formations.

He now only needs to compete with De Sciglio for this spot and he’ll likely be the starting left back for this match.

Hopefully a healthy Danilo can show us more than he has as he’s struggled through injuries throughout this season, otherwise a new right back should be priority number one this summer.
