2. Aubameyang loves a brace

Aubameyang picked up the player of the match award and rightfully so. His two goals were something of pure brilliance.

Particularly the first goal, where even Gary Neville, who can be Arsenal’s harshest critic when he wants to be, said it had Thierry Henry written all over it. This was due to his immense speed to get through on goal and his aplomb to open up his body and slot it past Jordan Pickford.

Aubameyang now has 17 Premier League goals this season and three in his last three matches. He will be hoping to finish the season a goal-scoring high, which I’m certain he will.

3. One player went from zero to hero

Bernd Leno doesn’t make many mistakes. So when he does, he is his own harshest critic. Right on the stroke of half time, the German shot-stopper had poor positioning and failed to pressurise Richarlison who equalled the match.

This was bound to come as a blow for Leno and it certainly did. However, he used this as motivation to get back to his old ways in the second half.

He was quite literally Arsenal’s saving grace as Everton could have easily scored four or five goals. Leno made a few terrific stops to keep Arsenal in this match and he deserves just as much thanks as Auba does.
