Arsenal’s youngster has certainly impressed this season…

Helped enormously by the injuries of Sead Kolasinac and Kieran Tierney, one Arsenal youngster has stood out this season. His name is Bukayo Saka, and he seems to be improving by the week.

Ever since he has been introduced to the starting XI, although most notably in the last five games, Saka has performed expertly. The young Englishman has more assists than any of his teammates this season, and he’s even assisted four and scored one in his last five games.

Saka is primarily a winger and this is where he first jumped onto the scene this season. However, the decision to convert him into a left-back during a time of need has been fruitful for Mikel Arteta.

Granted, Saka does spend most of the time in the final third. However, he is improving as a defender by the week.

Arsenal’s philosophy under Arteta has been to attack down the left-hand side, where Saka and Aubameyang have formed a nice connection.

With the sheer talent which Arsenal have in attack, it might be a wise career decision for Saka to remain as a left-back going forward. At least for the remainder of the season, anyway.

I mean, when Kieran Tierney returns from injury, it would take a lot for him to break into the starting XI ahead of Saka if he keeps up his good form. I remember saying that Arsenal didn’t miss Alexandre Lacazette (through injury) because of Saka and the same can be said for Tierney.

Kolasinac started the most recent Premier League match against Everton but his short performance can be, well, forgotten. He was dreadful and at fault for the first goal Arsenal conceded.

In the first five minutes of being on, Saka provided a superb assist and proved to Arteta that he simply MUST continue to start. For as long as he is fit, the left-back position is his.
