CM: Rodrigo Bentancur

The competition for this spot in Juve’s midfield has suddenly gotten a lot more congested, but I still think the answer to who should start is pretty clear. Rodrigo Bentancur has played well in all 3 midfield roles for Juve this season and should be seen as an irreplaceable option at this point. I really just hope that Sarri doesn’t make the same mistake he made the last time Juve had a big match and start Blaise Matuidi. That would be a huge mistake that could end up costing Juve this match. Instead, he should go with the obvious choice and start the young, developing talent who has played consistently well over the last couple of months. There is only one right answer and it’s Rodrigo Bentancur.

CM: Miralem Pjanic

Juventus chose to take the cautious approach with Pjanic over the weekend after he had picked up an injury in the previous match, but he should be ready to go on Wednesday. We have still yet to see Sarri really bring the best out of him, but there is no denying that Juve is at their best when he is in the midfield. With this midfield finally seeming to be at its strongest, we may finally see Pjanic at his best, but this looks like our last hope that there is a next level for this squad. Let’s hope Pjanic can finally bring out the best in the Juventus attack on Wednesday and deliver a win in France.

CM: Aaron Ramsey

Over the last couple of matches, we’ve seen Aaron Ramsey healthy and playing in the role where he’s most comfortable and it has produced really good results. He didn’t show up on the scoresheet in the first match, but he did contribute all over the field and keep pressure on Brescia. In the second match in the role, he scored with a spectacular chip against SPAL and showed the dynamic ability he adds to the midfield. He should stay in this spot as often as possible now that he is finally healthy and I believe he just might be the key to unlocking the attacking potential of this squad. If he brings this new dimension to the squad on Wednesday then it is going to be really tough for Lyon to get the win against Juve.
