4. Real Madrid have been struggling defensively

Not only have Real Madrid been struggling to score goals in their last couple of matches, but they have also been in poor defensive form. Los Blancos have shipped an astonishing 10 goals in their last five games which is not a good sign for them heading into this match.

The defensive frustration was personified when Sergio Ramos was given a red card in their midweek match against Manchester City, a game which they lost at home.

Real Madrid have one of the best defensive pairings in the world in Ramos and Raphael Varane but if they have another bad game then Lionel Messi and co will be on hand to punish them.

5. Barcelona have been flying in the final third

Conversely, and perhaps worryingly for Zidane, Barcelona have been efficient in the final third. Particularly Messi, who in the last La Liga matchup, scored an incredible four goals against Eibar to give his side a 5-0 win.

Antoine Griezmann has also been scoring a few lately, most notably the only goal his side scored against Napoli in midweek.

This frightening attack against Real Madrid’s out-of-form defence could be the telling factor of the match. Although, anything can happen in El Clasico so it would not surprise me if Real Madrid pull out a defensive masterclass.

Also. Real Madrid could make an ambitious move to replace Karim Benzema. light
