It’s been a weird week for Juventus.

First, Juventus went to Lyon and lost a match where they never looked particularly good. Then they were expected to play a match against Inter Milan behind closed doors on Sunday because of coronavirus.

Then the match was cancelled and rescheduled for the middle of May. That gave Juve some extra time to prepare for their Coppa Italia semifinal against AC Milan, but it didn’t give them the chance to try and regain some momentum after the loss to Lyon.

Momentum has been hard to come by for Juve lately as they’ve had a few disappointing results lately.

They now find themselves tied with Milan heading into the second leg, trailing Lyon heading into that second leg, and 2 points behind Lazio for the Scudetto with a match in hand. They could use some good news on Wednesday.

On the other hand, Milan has seen their fortunes change lately. Since the draw against Juve, they won at home against Torino and managed to earn an away draw against Fiorentina.

These recent results have pulled them back into 7th on the Serie A table. Advancing against Juve would help them keep the momentum going and would give them their only chance of the year to earn some silverware.

Juventus doesn’t have any new injuries to worry about and should only be without Merih Demiral for this match. They should continue to use the 4-3-3 they’ve recently returned to.

GK: Gianluigi Buffon

I wouldn’t be shocked to see Juventus give Wojciech Szczesny his first Coppa Italia start of the season on Wednesday, but I believe they will go with Gianluigi Buffon in this match.

He hasn’t shown any reason to believe he can’t be trusted in this type of match and it has been his only action since the start of the new year.

I don’t know when Juve is planning on having him break the Serie A appearance record and the next logical time for it to happen isn’t for another week and a half.

That should mean that Juve is going to let their legend make another appearance against AC Milan.
