Everything you need to know about Southampton’s Jan Bednarek
There is a lot to know about Southampton’s brute defender Jan Bednarek…
Over the course of the last decade, Poland has produced some of the best talent the country has ever seen. From prolific goalscorer such as Robert Lewandowski, to reliable and omnipotent keepers like Wojciech Szczęsny, to defensive stalwarts such as Łukasz Piszczek, the retinue of Polish players to establish themselves as household names is impressive, to say the least.
That trend seems to be continuing. A whole new retinue of talented players are coming to the fore, playing pivotal roles for their clubs and helping them achieve heights that have them punching above their own weight.
One such player has been Jan Bednarek. Bednarek (23), who currently plies his trade for Premier League side Southampton, has gradually risen to become one of the side’s best, if not the best central defender, playing an immense role in what has been a much improved second half of the season.
Bednarek’s performances have been such an improvement that it begs the question: Is the player ready for the next step in his career, and if so, where would he go?
What clubs could use his specific skillset to help propel them to the next level, and what clubs would be best suited for the natural unraveling of his development?
At this point in time in his career, it makes sense for us to look at what sort of player Bednarek truly is, and where his future should truly lie.
