Juventus have one goal in mind, to keep Cristiano Ronaldo at the Allianz Stadium. And who can blame them?

Juventus struck gold when they secured the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid a few summers ago. The Portuguese international is one of, and many people would argue THE best player in the world. Although, that’s a story for another time.

One thing that can’t be denied, even if you are on Lionel Messi‘s side of the fence, is that Ronaldo is a truly astonishing player and what he has achieved in sport is worthy of the accolade.

Juventus fans know this now if they didn’t before. Even at the age of 35, Ronaldo is still scoring goals for fun and he has shown little to no signs of ageing. I mean on the field by the way, although he is a gorgeous man.

More from Serie A

That said, the recent report from AS comes as no surprise. They have reported that Ronaldo is set to be tabled a new contract by Juventus which will see him at the club until 2024, so a two-year extension on the contract he is under now.

This just goes to show Juve’s intent, and in all honesty, nobody can blame them. They’re trying to convince the superstar that Italy is the place for him to retire, in case he had desires elsewhere.

Juventus have given Ronaldo a lot. They have given him the chance to prove that he can do it across multiple leagues and given him a less intense role than the one he had at Real Madrid to accommodate for him ageing.

Juve sits top of Serie A and although Ronaldo will want to start challenging in the Champions League, if he feels like this is doable in the coming seasons, then he will put pen to paper.

Juventus have made some good deals in previous transfer windows and a growing number of high-profile stars are joining Cristiano Ronaldo. That said, he doesn’t have much to complain about, which will make Maurizio Sarri confident he can keep the Portugal international.
