Manchester United finally have a plan in place if they lose Paul Pogba this summer…

It seems to be a common theme of the recent transfer windows; will Paul Pogba stay at Manchester United or will he go? Well, if his decision is the latter, then he’s certainly not had much luck in recent windows, despite the heavy interest.

Real Madrid is the likely destination which seems to be thrown around a lot, which is understandable since they are in the best position to house Pogba. They are consistently challenging in the Champions League and domestically. Also, Zinedine Zidane is an excellent manager and as countrymen, he would be a good mentor to Pogba.

The truth is, Paul Pogba’s time at Manchester United has looked over for the longest time. Ever since Jose Mourinho’s decline, he brought Pogba down with him. Metaphorically I mean, of course.

More from Manchester United

Some things just aren’t meant to be and Manchester United fans will know that. However, it doesn’t mean they can’t move on to a potentially better player.

According to Marca, United have emerged as favourites to sign the Ajax prodigy Donny van de Beek, overtaking none other than Real Madrid in the process. I mean, this can’t be a coincidence, there’s only one reason to this.

Manchester United are probably accepting their fate of losing Paul Pogba in the summer, which is backed up by Real Madrid’s easing of Danny van de Beek.

The Dutch international is a tremendous midfielder, hence the global interest. He really burst onto the scene last season in the Champions League.

Van de Beek is a physically demanding player that doesn’t mind putting his body on the line. However, once he has won the ball back he turns into somewhat of a twinkle-toes, dribbling the ball forward with ease and playing perfectly-weighted through ball.

This could massively benefit Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s attacking system, as he places a lot of emphasis on the runs of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and even Odion Ighalo now. That said, Donny van de Beek would slot straight into the Old Trafford XI.
