Manchester United have set their asking price for their notable defender who was signed by Sir Alex Ferguson back in 2011.
Manchester United have had their ups and downs this season, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side has been one of the most improved teams in the Premier League in recent months.
The Red Devils are knocking on the door of the top four, and they have been winning comfortably in the Europa League as well.
The distractions regarding Paul Pogba’s commitment to the club have taken over transfer headlines and triggered innumerable rumours in every media outlet. Despite all that, Manchester United are confident they will be able to hold on to their 27-year-old star this summer.

A player who is not experiencing the same fate, however, is defender Phil Jones. The England international was highly praised by Sir Alex Ferguson when he signed for Manchester United back in 2011, but he has become an outcast with Solskjaer running the show.
A new report from The Daily Mail claims that Manchester United have set a £12m asking price for clubs interested in securing the services of their experienced centre-back. So far, West Ham and Newcastle United are two teams that are prepared to offer Jones a lifeline to continue his career in the top flight.
Seeing that Jones has only made two league appearances for Manchester United this season, one can assume that he is fervently looking to leave for regular minutes as a starter. In addition, the fact that Manchester United have set their price for Jones is a major hint that they will not be interested in listening to loan offers.
When looking at the defenders at both West Ham and Newcastle United, Jones’ best bet to play regular minutes is for the Hammers. The Magpies have quality competition on the back-line, but the same cannot be said for West Ham as they have been a relegation-threatened team all season.
