Arsenal has finally had their say on Barcelona’s behaviour…

Barcelona really likes the look of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. This is no surprise to me, as an Arsenal fan. Nor should it be a surprise to you; after all, we can all admit that Aubameyang is a phenomenal player.

Just taking a look at his goal-scoring statistics throughout the years tells you everything you need to know. He is one of the best strikers in the world and he has been for some time. Even in his 30s, he is still scoring goals for fun at Arsenal and bailing them out of sticky situations.

Consequently, it’s no surprise that Barcelona is trying their utmost to sign the Gabon international in the summer. With it being thought that Quique Setien is on the hunt for a striker to replace Luis Suarez, there aren’t much better than Aubameyang.

However, Arsenal officials are beginning to voice their frustration over how Barcelona have gone about it, and rightly so. The Daily Star has reported that club officials and even Aubameyang himself have admitted that the reports linking him with a move away are nonsensical.

This is great to see. It really is. In the past, Arsenal would have let Barcelona bully them into signing their star players but it is no longer the case. I mean, there is no longer a reason to with the Gunners having paid off the debt they collected when moving from Highbury to the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal themselves are looking forward to the summer transfer window and rightly so. I mean, anything beats the quiet nature that is English, and indeed European soccer right now. This summer can’t come quick enough.

Mikel Arteta will be looking to get his first proper transfer window underway since in January he was still trying to work out his best starting XI, hence only two players were signed on loan.

It’s thought that Stan Kroenke and company will invest heavily in the summer which, although many don’t like him as an owner, wouldn’t surprise me because he has put a lot of money into the club in recent summer transfer windows.

For now, though, Arsenal fans can rest assured that Aubameyang isn’t going anywhere unless the context changes, of course. It’s good to see a star player of Arsenal committing himself fully to the club, especially when the likes of Barcelona have come calling.
