Arsenal: David Luiz has snubbed ‘begging’ Chelsea staff
By Kian Long
Nobody likes a pest, especially not Arsenal’s David Luiz…
In the summer, Arsenal made quite a shock signing when they acquired David Luiz from Chelsea. Many, including myself I must admit, were sceptical of the deal but as time has progressed, the Brazil international has performed expertly for the Gunners.
Now, he founds himself being a key component to Mikel Arteta‘s usual squad and he is beginning to build his defence around him, and rightly so.
For many years, it’s no secret that Arsenal struggled defensively, and even at times this season they have struggled. However, whenever Luiz is on the pitch, the Gunners instantly look better and more comfortable in the defensive third.

Luiz brings experience and his positioning is phenomenal. If he sees a fellow defender out of position, then he is sure to shout at them and even drag them into place if he needs to. It also helps that he is composed at playing the ball out from the back since this minimises the defensive errors on Arsenal’s behalf.
He is that much of a great player that Chelsea want him back. I mean, who can blame them? According to Goal, Luiz has claimed that member of Chelsea staff was begging him to return to the club but he is fully committed on a great future with Arsenal. This is truly humbling to see as an Arsenal fan, as it’s always great getting one over on Chelsea.
There is not going to be any football until late April now, as an extension of the postponement was revealed on Thursday. Consequently, fans will feel reassured that Arsenal players still have their heart in the club and this will only make them even more excited for the season to kick off again, however, the safety of the players, staff and supporters must remain a priority.
