Barcelona and Real Madrid will compete yet again, although this time not on the pitch…

When Barcelona come calling your name, you know you’re showing great potential, similar to Real Madrid. Although, when both the Spanish super clubs come calling your name, you can basically consider yourself Zinedine Zidane reincarnated.

I’m joking, obviously, However, Fabian Ruiz deserves to feel on top of the world as he is receiving interest from both clubs. This news is courtesy of Calcio Mercato, who reports that both clubs have already been in contact with Ruiz’s agent over a potential summer deal.

Barcelona is already starting to build a solid foundation for their future in the middle of the pitch. The signing of Frenkie De Jong has helped massively with this, as the Dutch midfielder has slotted into the position well and made a name for himself in the starting XI.

However, Quique Setien won’t be satisfied until the project is complete. And with Sergio Busquets ageing and Ivan Rakitic likely to leave in the summer, it’s important Barcelona invest some money in this position so they are sorted.

Fabian Ruiz is the best option for both Real Madrid and Barcelona, in all honesty. He has it all. His tall frame enables him to outmuscle opposing players for the ball while his technical ability allows him to dictate play in the middle of the pitch. It also helps that he has plenty of aplomb in one-on-one situations.

Napoli sits in sixth place of the Seria A table, which is lower than they’d like to be despite hitting a run of good form before the obvious Coronavirus outbreak, which has unsettled the league and put it on halt. That said, Fabian Ruiz will have more to focus on than his career but he will have the interest of Barcelona and Real Madrid at the back of his mind.
