Manchester United may be lining up the man to fill Paul Pogba’s void…

The soccer world may be taking a huge pause right now, but that hasn’t stopped Manchester United planning for their future. And rightly so, because now is the perfect time to recuperate and see to any nagging tasks that need doing. Yep, even the biggest clubs in the world procrastinate, you’re not alone.

I suppose the biggest issue surrounding Manchester United at the moment, besides the obvious global dilemma, is the situation of Paul Pogba. The question has been asked for the last few seasons; will he stay or will he go?

The truth is, at this point United fans won’t mind either way. What’s important though, is they get a sense of clarity and an agreement (NOT a compromise) from both parties. That way, the right steps forward can be made and this media speculation will no longer haunt the club.

More from Manchester United

Anyway, on a brighter note. It seems likely that Nemanja Matic will be awarded a new contract at the club, whether or not the Serbian international will accept it remains to be seen. According to The Sun, the deal will be two-year and United will grant Matic with £140,000 per week. Not bad at all.

The truth is, if United were to keep ahold of Pogba, he would require much more than that weekly, which is why I can’t help but think this is linked. Is United trying to secure the future of Matic in case they lose out on Pogba?

Either way, Matic is an excellent player so fans should be excited by this news. Matic often doesn’t get the credit he deserves from other fans because a large emphasis of his game tends to be on the nitty-gritty aspects.

Wow, top-class analysis, right? But you know what I mean, Matic excels at the small tasks such as intercepting the ball, tackling and playing short lay-offs. These all make a big difference in the grand scheme of the game.

What do you think will be the future of Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic?
