2. He is the perfect solution to the Dani Ceballos problem

Look, it’s unfair to compare Coutinho and Dani Ceballos. The current Arsenal loanee simply doesn’t have much experience and I’m certain that one day he will become the superstar he is destined to be. However, I just don’t think he is what Arsenal needs right now.

If Arsenal were to sign him full time when his loan expires, the fee will likely be similar or just a little less than what Barcelona will ask for Coutinho. And in all honesty, Coutinho is a far better player and he would be the ideal alternative to signing Ceballos.

That said, it makes sense to sign the Brazil international and let Ceballos return to Spain. After all, there is more of a future for him in Spain than there is for Coutinho.

3. He would give Mesut Ozil a kick up the backside

Nobody can deny that Mesut Ozil is a great player when he wants to be. But the problem for Arsenal fans is it seems he never wants to be. Like, ever.

This post isn’t anti-Ozil though, you’ll be glad to hear. You can head to any sports website to hear about Ozil’s flaws. In fact, I’m a big admirer of Ozil and I hope he stays in North London and has a more fruitful end to his career as it’s what he deserves.

The signing of Philippe Coutinho could be exactly what inspires Ozil to return to the player he once was. Since arriving in Arsenal, the only top-quality partnerships he has had was with Santi Cazorla and Alexis Sanchez, so it will be nice to see the relationship between Ozil and Coutinho kindle. After all, they are similar players and have both spent time playing in Spain and Germany.

More on Coutinho’s playing style in the next slide.
