Manchester United set to sign Arsenal superstar Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the summer.

Manchester United is looking for healthy options in their striking department and all of a sudden they are linked with Arsenal superstar Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the summer.

According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United are looking to sign Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the summer.

Although the Red Devils have been linked with the biggest names in the footballing world, they had to settle for Odion Ighalo in the January transfer window – which surprisingly worked pretty well for all the parties so far.

More from Manchester United

Manchester United’s heavy reliance on Marcus Rashford for goal scoring burden has been pretty obvious, but his injury came in as a serious blow to their top 4 chase.

But the club dealt with the situation pretty well by signing Odion Ighalo and Bruno Fernandes, which helped them with their consistency until the recent COVID-19 pandemic break.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could leave Arsenal this summer and has heavily been linked with FC Barcelona as well – who are looking at him as the perfect replacement for ageing Luis Suarez.

Manchester United can ward off the competition from biggest European clubs with their financial muscle. We have seen that many times before, especially in the era after Sir Alex Ferguson left.

Although, most of the recent era signings didn’t work out so this deal for Gabonese striker could prove to be risky but worthy.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is most probably expected to be played up top if he joins the Old Trafford outfit. The fact that he’s entering his 30’s doesn’t mean he’s slowing down anytime sooner.

But the likes of Marcus Rashford, Daniel James and Anthony Martial could be used for serious pace injection.

With the likes of Mason Greenwood expected to leave on loan in the search of regular first-team starts and game time.

The Gunners goal machine has been carrying the London club’s hopes for top 6 finish for two seasons now and is expected to leave the club for less than or just about £50 million.

If the deal goes on, then we could see the history repeat itself – we have been here before, Robin van Persie leaving Arsenal for Manchester United directly and going on to win the league title with the Red Devils in his debut season.

But things don’t always turn out to be bright, as we have seen Alexis Sanchez fail miserably with the Red Devils after leaving the Emirates.
