Lionel Messi is considered by many footballers, coaches, and fans around the world as the greatest of all time. He wouldn’t be considered this if it weren’t by the players on his side.

Lionel Messi, throughout his 16-year old footballing career, has been played alongside some of the greatest footballers of all time. There have been players who have had a direct impact on the magician’s successful career.

The Argentine has won many individual and team awards throughout his career. Such said achievements have been achieved not only by him but by the set of individuals around him.

This list will focus on Lionel Messi’s top three Barcelona teammates. There has been a great list of names; these next three individuals have been some of the most important ones in his long career for the Blaugrana.

In this piece, I will discuss as to who I think was the Argentine’s top three teammates. These next three individuals were vital to Messi’s career and his success at the club. Ronaldinho, Luis Suarez, and Dani Alves are the three individuals who make the cut. These are three standout players who helped make him the greatest footballer of all time, all three in different time frames.

Although there have been some great players that played alongside Messi, they are included in the spotlight list. The following ten players were fundamental with him for the club to achieve greatness: Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta, Carles Puyol, David Villa, Neymar, Samuel Eto’o, Thierry Henry, Eric Abidal, Deco, and Rafael Márquez.

There is a growing list of players that come to Barcelona, although all of them are important to the club, we do not discard them as failures. They were important themselves in providing an assist or scoring a goal of an assist form the Argentine himself.
