Valencia has informed Arsenal of the price they must pay for in-demand midfielder Carlos Soler…

It remains to be confirmed what will happen with the scheduled summer transfer window. However, the best thing clubs can do is try their best to come up with a transfer strategy, just in case things do return to normal by then. This is exactly what Arsenal is going.

Rumours would suggest the Arsenal hierarchy has been in contact with Valencia over a potential move for Carlos Soler. Soler is a 23-year-old midfielder that is attracting global attention for his work with Valencia, as even Barcelona and Real Madrid are keeping their eyes on him.

According to the Daily Mail, Valencia has responded to Arsenal’s enquiry over his price and have revealed a fair one. Simon Jones has revealed the price Arsenal will need to pay is £36m.

If you’ve never heard of Carlos Soler, it would be easy to brush this valuation off as excessive. However, those that have watched his performances in La Liga before this season’s suspension will know all about what he has to offer.

Soler is everything Arsenal needs. He is a tall midfielder that is very physical. However, this is not his main asset as he is mostly known for his dribbling and creative abilities. He is able to bomb forward with the ball at his feet and get his teammates involved in the game.

This is exactly what Arsenal needs as it’s something they are missing. Lucas Torreira is exceptional in the defensive third and Granit Xhaka can dictate play well. However, Guendouzi is the only midfield option Arsenal can rely on in the final third but this is not his natural role.

Valencia faces a battle to keep their star players in the summer as they host a young squad. Consequently, the Gunners should understand and respect their valuation of Soler. It might even be a possibility to include Mesut Ozil as a part of the deal to soften Valencia’s stance, but this is totally in the hands of Raul Sanllehi and company.
