Right now, we have no idea when we’ll see Juventus play another match, but that doesn’t mean we can’t take some time to think about what their future should look like.
The next transfer window should be a busy one for Juventus whenever the window actually does open, especially when it comes to selling their players. Let’s take a look at who those players should be.
Sami Khedira
I’m sure there is absolutely nobody surprised to see Sami Khedira as the first name on this list. I’m pretty sure he has been on every one of these lists I’ve put together since I started at Playing For 90, but he somehow continues to survive at Juve while Claudio Marchisio and Emre Can have been deemed expendable. That needs to change this summer.
Sami Khedira has clearly been declining over the last few years and this season he was horrendous. It was almost like Juventus was playing with 10 men at all times because Khedira rarely got himself involved in matches and when he did, he did absolutely nothing to advance Juve’s attack.
I don’t even know if Juventus will be able to get a transfer fee for Khedira after they had to settle for a free transfer of Mario Mandzukic a couple of months ago. At this point though, I don’t even care if Juve gets any money for him. His salary is laughably high and just getting his contract off the books would be good enough for Juve as they deal with the financial consequences of signing Ronaldo.
I don’t know why Sami Khedira is still at Juventus, but that absolutely needs to change by August.
