Daniele Rugani

This move is long overdue and now it absolutely needs to happen this summer. For some reason, Juventus has continued to have hope that Daniele Rugani might reach something resembling the potential when he joined the squad but has become abundantly clear that it’s never going to happen. Now, there is absolutely no path for him to even have the chance to ever show any kind of improvement.

Juventus already has Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci, Matthijs de Ligt, and Merit Demiral who will all play over him next season and Cristian Romero will be overtaking him next season too. It’s just not a situation that is conducive to him ever being a valuable member of this Juve squad. Instead, the most value he’ll be able to bring Juve is as a transfer fee this summer.

At just 25 years old, there are likely to be plenty of teams out there who need help at center back and are willing to take a chance on a player who was once expected to play a big role at Juventus. He’s not exactly the type of player that is going to fetch a hefty fee, but whatever he brings in should be enough to help Juve build up other areas of their squad.

Unfortunately, the Daniele Rugani era at Juventus was never quite what he or the fans would have hoped and now it should come to an end. I expect this to be one of the first sales Juve makes this summer as it’s one of the most obvious ones they need to make and it shouldn’t be too difficult to find a landing spot for Rugani.
