Lionel Messi demands Barcelona to prioritise Neymar over others
By Kian Long
Barcelona’s most important player Lionel Messi has finally had his say on the whole Neymar reluctancy…
Barcelona is not the type of club to rest on their laurels. However, when they begin to become complacent, it is usually Lionel Messi that gives them the push they need to meet their goals. Both on and off the pitch, Messi has become an important figure at Camp Nou since his introduction.
It’s no secret that Barcelona’s style of play revolves around the Argentine superstar. If a player does not suit his demands, it is usually the decision of the management to remove them from the starting XI. That’s how important Messi is tactically to the manager.
That said, Messi is always the first to poke his nose in behind the scenes and provide his two cents to the Camp Nou hierarchy. It’s never a surprise to see news stories like this and they are often very believable.

According to Diario Gol, Messi has finally had his say on the Neymar situation. He has demanded, or rather suggested, that Barcelona should prioritise the signing of Neymar over Lautaro Martinez. Both players are on the radar of the Blaugrana as Quique Setien wants to improve his attack.
Neymar spent many successful years at Barca and during his time, he formed a close relationship with Messi and, of course, Luis Suarez. Consequently, you can understand Messi’s desire to bring back his former teammate.
This summer’s transfer window is bound to be like none other we’ve seen before. The Coronavirus outbreak will have implications on the price of players and how inclined clubs are to let go of their most important players.
That said, if Barcelona can utilise their resources well and negotiate as well as they have done in the past, there’s no reason why they cannot bring Neymar back to Catalonia.
Do you think Barcelona should prioritise the signing of Neymar?
