The Real Madrid frontman Karim Benzema is staking his claim in the club’s attack…
Karim Benzema has been a loyal servant to Real Madrid since his arrival. He often doesn’t get the praise he deserves for the times he has bailed Los Blancos out of trouble, mainly due to his known struggles on the big stage. This aside, he has been a consistent goal scorer in the footballing capital for some time and it’s rare that the fans want to sign a replacement.
However, with the Frenchman ageing and many up and coming stars in the market, it’s difficult not to ponder. This is what the Santiago Bernabeu hierarchy are experiencing right now, that’s for sure. Florentino Perez is looking at striking options for this summer’s transfer window.
According to Don Balon, Karim Benzema has heard of the interest in Erling Haaland and he is not happy about it. The report claims that Benzema does not want to partner Haaland because it would take away many options for him to score.

If this report is to be believed, then I would have to disagree with Benzema’s stance. Of course, Haaland is a clinical goal scorer but why does this mean Real Madrid shouldn’t sign him? If anything, it means they should and his position would be secure for many years to come.
While a little bit of selfishness when it comes to goals is a good thing, to deny anyone that would improve the side would be logically absurd.
Haaland will remain Real Madrid’s priority signing this summer alongside bringing in Paul Pogba to strengthen the midfield, and rightly so. If Benzema isn’t happy, then Los Blancos shouldn’t be too concerned. After all, they would have signed a pretty worthwhile replacement, to say the least. Haaland is a goal-scoring machine.
Do you think Real Madrid should sign Erling Haaland this summer?
