Lionel Messi is no stranger to being in contact with the Barcelona board. Now he has suggested that an attacking teammate of his is replaced…

Even with football being put on hold, the Nou Camp always finds ways to provide drama to the Barcelona supporters. The Catalan club will, of course, be looking forward to the summer transfer window, where they will be able to make some much-needed changes.

Barcelona sits top of the La Liga table heading into the Coronavirus break, although, they will feel lucky to be where they are. Too often this season, they have been saved by Marc-Andre ter Stegen as both their defence and attack hasn’t looked on top form.

Still, they find themselves on top of the Spanish top flight and it’s largely down to Lionel Messi‘s work in attack. This should come as no surprise since the Argentine is known as the best player in the world and he is certainly Barcelona’s most important player.

That said, his suggestions are often welcomed behind the scenes. After all, the Barcelona board would want to appease their best player, especially with his contract running down.

According to a report from Diario Gol, Messi has now had his say on who he wants to replace Ousmane Dembele. It’s thought the Argentine is now desperate for his club to sign Neymar back from Paris Saint-Germain as he and other trusted stars including Gerard Pique and Luis Suarez are concerned with how Dembele is performing.

This is impossible for the Barca hierarchy to ignore. When not just one but a handful of their most trusted professionals are calling for a player to be axed, it simply must happen. The last thing Barcelona would want is to lose the dressing room.

After all, these Barca players have played with Neymar before so they are in the best position to judge who is the better fit for the team. The board should trust their judgement and use any funds used from selling Dembele to soften the inevitably huge price they will pay for Neymar.
