Mikel Arteta arrived just before the winter transfer window which meant that he could not make the impact he wanted to. However, as Arsenal head coach he has learned a lot about his squad and he will use this summer to revamp it to the best ability.

With that being said, here are five players that I think need to be sold in order to kickstart the rehaul…

5. Mohamed Elneny

This one isn’t going to surprise you. I’ve made my distaste for Mohamed Elneny known in the past and his loan spell has done nothing to convince me otherwise.

Elneny is set to return to Arsenal this summer after what was supposed to be a year out to Besiktas. However, the first thing Arsenal should do is sell him.

He is not what the Gunners need as all he provides to a side is the ability to sideways pass. Any player on the transfer market can do that. I mean, I’m sure if Arsenal were to bring back Arsene Wenger he could fill out this role.
