1. Timo Werner

Leipzig’s star striker seems to be Liverpool’s number one target for this summer’s transfer window and it’s looking more likely that he will join the Reds in the coming months here. The 24-year old was lethal in the final third this term, netting 21 goals in 25 Bundesliga matches this term, while also scoring four times in Champions League play.

Werner isn’t the most tactical player, but he is absolutely ruthless in the final third. The German is also a great provider for Leipzig, having set up another nine goals this season. He usually plays centrally for Julian Nagelsmann’s side, but he could also play as a number ten if needed.

Werner’s number one attribute is his speed. He’s arguably one of the fastest players in the Bundesliga and with an impressive physical presence as well, Werner is a forced to be reckoned with in the final third.

Klopp has voiced his admiration of Werner and there is no doubt that he would bolster Liverpool’s attack instantly. The Reds will face stiff competition for Werner, with Chelsea, Manchester United, Juventus, and Inter Milan all interested in the striker, but it seems like the Merseysiders have been the one club who have been heavily linked with him for quite some time now.

Werner has a release clause in his current Leipzig contract which would allow him to leave the club this summer for just 50 million euros.

That’s quite the bargain for such a quality attacker, so it seems like a no-brainer for the Reds. He would definitely give Roberto Firmino a run for his money as Liverpool’s central striker, but as I said earlier, he could also play a different attacking position.

Werner has been a consistent finisher and playmaker over the last two seasons. It’s definitely time for him to move on from Leipzig and face his next challenge. Liverpool could be the perfect destination.
