2. Chris Smalling

The English defender was sent out on loan to Roma this season. Truth be told, if the Italian club decides not to sign him permanently, which given the economic crisis that is bound to affect them, would not surprise me, then Manchester United must sell him elsewhere.

The reason this is controversial is that I opted for Chris Smalling rather than Phil Jones. However, the Red Devils would get more money out of selling Smalling and, in all honesty, they are of the same calibre so it wouldn’t make much difference.

1. Paul Pogba

You saw this one coming surely. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, then you’ll know Paul Pogba is linked with a move away to Real Madrid this summer.

To be frank, Manchester United does not need this level of media scrutiny and Pogba cannot keep playing games. If he is committed to United, he would have made it clear enough for Real Madrid to back off by now. But he hasn’t.

It would certainly be an emotional goodbye, don’t get me wrong. Pogba is an exceptional player and he has shone whenever he has played for Manchester United this season. However, Solskjaer would be better off selling him because he is by no means irreplaceable.

I mean, just look at how much better the side has looked since Bruno Fernanes arrived and Fred was looking bright before the Coronavirus break.
