2. Goals galore

I mean, it’s not exactly rocket science that the first thing any manager looks for in their attack is goals. Sometimes it might be hard to believe, but it’s what they’re paid to do.

Martinelli provides goals in abundance and he always has, no matter the club he’s been at. He topped the 50 goal mark for Ituano before signing for Arsenal, scoring an impressive 64 goals.

This season for the Gunners, Martinelli has scored 10 goals already for Arsenal this season and provided two assists across all competitions. This is remarkable for an 18-year-old that has only started 15 games.

If he continues this fine goal-scoring form, he will surely turn more heads. But for the meantime, Arsenal has to do all they can to keep him happy.

3. He is not Wellington Silva 2.0

Arsenal have not had a good recent history of signing young Brazilian stars. Wellington Silva, for example, showed plenty of promise in an Arsenal shirt but he failed to obtain a feasible work permit, which meant Arsenal had to loan him out before eventually selling him.

A positive in favour of Gabriel Martinelli is that this won’t happen to him. According to Charles Watts of Goal.com, Martinelli is eligible for an Italian passport which would mean he doesn’t need a permit to play in London. Bonus.
