Barcelona will use three players in lucrative Neymar swap-deal
By Kian Long
Barcelona is prepared to sacrifice a lot in order to bring in their main transfer target, Neymar, from Paris Saint-Germain. Is it worthwhile?
Barcelona has made no secret of their desire to re-sign Neymar. I mean, they pretty much dominate the newspaper back-pages with their pursuit as it tends to take a new twist and turn each day.
However, very rarely do we see a report quite like this. Mundo Deportivo has made an astonishing claim that Barcelona is willing to offer not one, not two but THREE senior players to Paris Saint-Germain in return for Neymar.
These players include, according to the report, Samuel Umtiti, Ousmane Dembele and Jean-Clair Tobido. Offloading such players is Barcelona’s method of overcoming the economic constraints that the Coronavirus pandemic is bound to have on the club.

In many ways, this should come as positive news to Barcelona fans. It shows that the board, despite having their disagreements in recent weeks, agree on one thing. That is, they won’t let the Coronavirus hinder their pursuit to bring Neymar back to Camp Nou.
This will be a tempting offer for Paris Saint-Germain too and one which is hard to refuse. I mean, they won’t need to search for a replacement since they’ll already have one in Ousmane Dembele, who was subject to a move away from Barcelona anyway. Returning to France would be fruitful for the player AND both clubs, so it’s a win-win, really.
The same can be said for the other two players since Paris Saint-Germain were bound to be on the market for a centre-back anyway and Umtiti would provide all the cover they need.
Tobido is currently on loan at Schalke but he would provide the cover PSG need after losing Layvin Kurzawa on a free transfer.
It may seem like Barcelona is sacrificing a lot, but supporters will know they’re sacrificing very little. The three aforementioned players are options that Quique Setien would have looked to sell anyway, so if they can provide leverage in signing Barca’s main target, why would he not want to include them?
Do you think Paris Saint-Germain will let go of Neymar this summer?
