1. Dodi Lukebakio (Hertha Berlin)
Dodi Lukebakio made history with Fortuna Dusseldorf when he scored a hattrick against Bayern Munich to help his team come from behind and secure a remarkable 3-3 draw. But that’s not all – he became the first ever player to score a Bundesliga hat-trick against Manuel Neuer.
It is rare for a player to perform at a high level with a newly-promoted side, but the former Watford star scored 10 goals with Dusseldorf last season – just 2 behind Sancho who played for Dortmund.
It is puzzling then, that the Hornets still chose to let him join Hertha for just €20 million. He’s continued to perform brilliantly, registering 5 goals and 5 assists so far.
The Belgian international is incredibly fast – easily one of the fastest players in Europe. As a prototypical winger, his dribbling and finishing are some other areas he is good at. Playing on the right with a stronger left foot, he loves to cut in and shoot.
His defensive work rate leaves much to be desired, but he’s still only 22 and has a lot to learn. Manchester United should snap him up before other European clubs come knocking and drive his price up.
