Real Madrid: Florentino Perez reveals lucrative summer transfer plan
By Kian Long
The Coronavirus crisis has put the world and the economy on hold, but Real Madrid chairman Florentino Perez has a plan that can see his side succeed in the transfer market…
The football market appeared to be growing tenfold and it would have seemed that nothing would burst its bubble. However, we all know the Coronavirus outbreak has had some serious complications and Real Madrid want to do everything they can to combat this confusion.
According to a report from Diario Gol, Florentino Perez, who chairs Real Madrid, has come up with a summer plan that would see Los Blancos hold a shortlist of five transfer targets, with six-player sales.
The report claims that Sadio Mane, Paul Pogba, Fabian Ruiz, Harry Kane and Lautaro Martinez are all at the top of Perez’s shortlist. On the other hand, the Whites could dispose of players such as James Rodriguez, Gareth Bale, Mariano Diaz, Lucas Vazquez, Marcelo and Luka Modric.

These names should come as no surprise to the Real Madrid faithful, especially those who follow the transfer news closely. However, it’s interesting to note that Lautaro Martinez has taken priority over Erling Haaland.
While this report is by no means concrete and there is still plenty of time between now and summer, perhaps Real Madrid is considering other options due to Haaland’s situation.
It’s not clear whether he will leave Borussia Dortmund for definite but the Yellows are thought to be lowering their price of him in the winter market of 2021, therefore Real Madrid could simply be waiting until then.
The sales of James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale should come as no surprise either, as they have been due a move away for some time now. However, if the report is to be believed then it’s interesting to see that Perez agrees with the sale of Marcelo.
The Brazilian has been a loyal servant to Real Madrid and they may regret selling him, especially if they are not able to sign a worthwhile replacement for him.
