Manchester United have bid farewell to their pursuit of Harry Kane but it should come as no loss to the fans. Here are three reasons why he was never the answer anyway…

The summer transfer window will, or should soon be upon us. It’s bound to be a complicated one given all that’s going on in the world and Manchester United are confident they can be prudent in the uncertain times.

According to the Guardian, the Red Devils will “not be able to” sign Harry Kane this summer, given the economic climate. However, it should come as no sweat as all along, I’ve never advocated for the transfer anyway.

1. If he had any drive, he would have left Tottenham by now

One of the main concerns I have about Harry Kane is his drive. I am of course talking about his drive to succeed, as I’m sure he’s very good at the steering wheel. Although, not as good as Ole (okay, I’ll see myself out).

Tottenham do not win trophies. This is not news to anyone and it certainly shouldn’t be news to Manchester United fans. Yes, they receive all the accolades for their youthful squad and rightly so but in the last few years, what have they really done except apply the pressure?

A player of Kane’s abilities should be expecting better things from his club, yet he has persisted through the trophyless seasons. Call this loyalty if you will, but to me, it signifies a lack of drive since he has had many opportunities to join clubs where he could win silverware, such as Real Madrid.

So that’s one reason why Manchester United, one of the most successful clubs in football history, is right to not sign Kane.

Onto the next.
