Joao Pedro produced some thrilling performances in the 2019-20 Serie A season. Although the 28-year old’s performances were overshadowed by some big names in the Serie A, the midfielder showed his class with some wonderful finishes. Pedro is a versatile player who can play as a second striker as well as an attacking midfielder.

The Portuguese is known to be technically quite strong. Pedro showed his class by scoring from unusual positions and has shown his effectiveness with aerial duels. Cagliari manager Walter Zenga had claimed that Pedro has set really high standards on the field as far as his playmaking skills are concerned.

His ability outclass the opposition’s defence with his speed and precise passes has also earned him lots of praise. He scored 16 goals in 25 games in the 2019-20 Serie A season with 2 assists to his name.

5. Josip Ilicic

Josep Ilisic has worked hard on his technique which is the reason why he has shown improvement in every game this season. Ilicic has looked absolutely brilliant in the 2019-20 season dominating the opposition’s defence with his attacking runs.

The Slovenian has looked threatening inside the box because of his inch-perfect finishing. The striker scored 15 goals in 21 matches with 8 assists to his name. The 28-year-old has shown his class with some smart passes which have often puzzled the opposition. Ilicic has scored 5 goals in 7 Champions League games this season. His deceptive movements inside the box can catch the opposition’s defence off guard.

Ilicic’s presence has infused a lot of intensity in Atlanta’s midfield. Although his performances have gone unnoticed, Ilicic’s consistency and determination will surely take him to newer heights in the future. Gian Piero Gasperini has expressed confidence that the striker will develop into a big-match player in the future.
