When it all seemed fizzled out, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has brought the transfer revelation back alive…
Wow. If you follow transfer news closely, you will know that there was speculation a few weeks ago that Liverpool was interested in Kylian Mbappe. However, nothing ever came of it which shouldn’t have come as a surprise as it was a rather sensationalist story.
Well, those rumours are starting to fly back into the papers and for good reason. According to Le10Sport, Jurgen Klopp has been in contact with Kylian Mbappe’s father over the phone, in order to discuss the future of his son.
Now, this could have easily been small talk. The French outlet never claimed what Mbappe’s father’s response was. I guess the only two people who know for sure are Klopp and the father himself. However, it’s certainly interesting.

It would seem likely that Liverpool is trying to pursue a move for Timo Werner this summer, as they look to bolster their attack. However, Kylian Mbappe is certainly another option, although he would break the bank.
For a move of this magnitude to occur during the economic crisis we’re facing, it would be a revelation, to say the least.
Mbappe is one of the most sought-after young players and it’s because he is by far and away the best of the bunch. Ageing at just 21, he would comfortably walk into any side as he is one of the best players in the world. I would go as far as to say he would slot into the Liverpool attack, although each individual is immensely talented in their own regard.
Should Klopp pull this move off, he would be improving a side that is already dubbed as the champions of Europe. It would be a testament to the fine work he has put in since arriving from Borussia Dortmund.
Having played it safe and been prudent with expenses over the last few years, Liverpool certainly have the capital. Whether they are willing to risk it in an uncertain transfer market remains to be seen but this news story does teach us one thing; the interest is there from Jurgen Klopp.
Do you think Liverpool will sign Kylian Mbappe this summer?
