Funds need to be raised one way or another this summer. Arsenal is very much a selling club, so this is not strange to them…

The summer transfer window is going to be a strange one, to say the least. Your guess is as good as mine as to what the transfer window will bring to Arsenal. But I guess that can be said most of the time, and there’s never any harm in any guessing.

According to a report by the Bleacher Report, the only way Arsenal will raise funds this summer is by selling and it’s thought they could part ways with six of their players. Here are my predictions as to who those players will be…

1. Mesut Ozil

This one seems like the most obvious, doesn’t it? Mesut Ozil‘s time at Arsenal is surely numbered given his lack of determination in the last few seasons, even under Mikel Arteta. He is the club’s biggest earner too, so parting ways with the former Germany international is what many fans want to see this summer.

2. Mohamed Elneny

No surprise here, either. Mohamed Elneny will return from an unsuccessful loan spell this summer and he has nothing new to offer Arsenal. He’s not good enough for Arteta since all he provides is the ability to sideways pass, any midfielder can do that. With Thomas Partey likely arriving, there really is no room for Elneny in the XI.

3. Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Another loaned out player who would be better off sold this summer is Henrikh Mkhitaryan. I have a lot of respect for Mkhi since he filled a position of need but it’s time for him to go. The Gunners need wide players and this is not the Armenian’s natural position so funds could be raised from him.

Besides, it would mean that I don’t need to remember how to spell his name each time. Bonus.

4. Sead Kolasinac

Arsenal is rumoured to be in the market for a left-back this summer, which means one option is surely surplus to requirements. Of both Sead Kolasinac and Kieran Tierney, it has to be the former. He is excellent when he wants to be but he is on the treatment table 99% of the time so the Gunners would be better off selling him.

5. Shkodran Mustafi

William Saliba will arrive back to Arsenal sooner then expected, given the Ligue 1 being declared void. That said, he can finally replace Shkodran Mustafi in the starting XI. There has been an improvement in the way Mustafi has played under Mikel Arteta so this one is subjective, but with Saliba in the XI, is there really any need for Mustafi to still be on the payroll?

6. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Sigh. It’s time to be realistic on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. All the factors are pointing to him moving away from Arsenal which is a shame to see. With the Gunners linked with a striker this summer, this can surely only mean that Aubameyang will be moved on, with the likes of Chelsea and Barcelona interested in acquiring his services. I just hope it isn’t Chelsea.
