Arsenal has been given the green-light to go ahead with this swap-deal that could potentially make or break their summer…
Transfers are now much more complicated than they once were. Nowadays, you have to agree terms with the club, the player and the agent. Long story short, Arsenal have not had an easy time of this in recent years, or more specifically, since Stan Kr*enke took charge.
However, this only makes it all the more appealing when big transfers happen. And they still do, believe it or not. In the last few years, The Gunners have signed big names in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Nicolas Pepe and Alexandre Lacazette. So, Arsenal certainly still have the pulling power.
According to a new report from the Telegraph, this hasn’t changed either. The English outlet has claimed that Thomas Partey favours a move to Arsenal, and he has made it clear he will prioritise a move to North London. It’s thought that Lacazette will move in the other direction, with Atletico Madrid likely to accept since they are huge fans of the French striker.

Is this a good bit of business for the Gunners? If they manage to keep ahold of Aubameyang, then of course it is. Lacazette is surplus to requirements and he is growing more and more frustrating to watch. Yes, he showed a marked improvement before the Coronavirus break, but he has shown this many times. He is simply inconsistent.
Thomas Partey, on the other hand, should be welcomed with open arms. He is an excellent progressive passer who likes to make things happen in the final third. His arrival would also mean that Mikel Arteta can deploy a midfield three, which means they will be much more defensively solid and their full-backs would not need to invert as much as they have done.
Do you think Arsenal will sign Thomas Partey this summer?
