5 players Juventus should sign this summer: Midfield needs an overhaul
By John Vaccaro
Mauro Icardi
Juventus was reportedly in the mix to land Mauro Icardi last season but weren’t able to make that happen because of a couple of obstacles blocking the move. Now, those roadblocks should be out of Juve’s way and they should be able to make the move happen.
The first of those roadblocks was the fact that Icardi was still with Inter Milan and it will never be easy for Juve and Inter to make deals with each other during the transfer window. The second issue for them was that it looked like they were going to need to give up Paulo Dybala to get Icardi and sending Dybala to Inter was absolutely not something Juve fans would have been okay with.

Now, both of those obstacles will be gone if PSG signs Icardi at the end of his loan. Juventus will find it much easier to reach a deal with PSG and they might even be able to use Mattia De Sciglio, who PSG has already tried to acquire, to draw the French club into negotiations.
If you read my last article, then you know that I believe there should be a couple of vacancies upfront for Juve. I believe that Icardi is the perfect player to fill one of them. I have held the belief for the last few years that Icardi is one of the world’s 5 most talented strikers. He began to remind everybody why this season.
After a disastrous last season with Inter, Icardi managed to return to form while on loan at PSG to the tune of 12 goals and 2 assists in Ligue 1 on top of 5 Champions League goals during a shortened season.
Icardi is just hitting his prime and would be the perfect addition to keep Juve as a yearly favourite to win the Champions League. He might be a little bit pricier than he would have been last summer, but right now he is exactly the striker Juventus needs.
