It was only a matter of time before the outspoken agent spoke out on the situation at Arsenal…

Some of you may be aware that I’m not the biggest fan of Mino Raiola. Yes, I respect him for working with some of the biggest names in football but as a football fan, he is easy to dislike. When Arsenal signed Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Manchester United, even in the negotiation period, I can recall the agent being a nightmare to work with.

In fairness, he’s been relatively quiet with regards to Arsenal this season, probably because Mkhitaryan has been out on loan to the Serie A. However, now he is set to return to Noth London, Raiola has opened his mouth, and it was only a matter of time.

He has come out to say that Arsenal is not interested in selling Henrikh Mkhitaryan, which seems hard to believe to me. Anyway, the news has come from the Express, with Raiola ironically calling reports linking his player with a move away “fake news”.

More from Arsenal FC

I’m not here to tell you I know more than Raiola. Of course, I don’t. However, I’m a fan of Arsenal and I, sometimes unfortunately, know my club like the back of my hand. It seems surreal to me that we would keep ahold of Mkhitaryan when there is really no place at all for him in the starting XI.

If Arsenal’s transfer activity is to be true, then they need to raise funds. Even if you don’t believe the sensationalist news stories, there’s no denying that funds need to be raised in some way, and player sales may be the best option. Especially when you consider the fact that the Gunners are still paying instalments for Nicolas Pepe.

Mkhitaryan had a good loan spell at Roma, granted, but does that mean he walks straight back into the Arsenal squad? No, or at least it shouldn’t. Mkhitaryan is surplus to requirements in his position and some nice funds could be raised from his sale with no loss from the club’s perspective. This is just the truth, sorry, Mino.
