Arsenal: This Leicester City star is the key to defensive problems

The key to solving a problem at Arsenal is within a player they haven’t even looked at yet…
The summer transfer window is fast approaching, which may be hard to believe. The world is on a stand-still, and time doesn’t seem to be moving fast at all. However, the Arsenal board is trying to hard to make it business as usual, as they hope to bring in a few new names this summer.
Obviously, it’s unfair to predict any sensational transfers to occur. The transfer market is bound to be a difficult place to manoeuvre this summer, if it wasn’t difficult enough for the Gunners. That said, this isn’t the transfer window to make any blockbuster moves.
However, it does confuse me why Arsenal aren’t seriously interested in Ben Chilwell of Leicester City. Given the current left-back situation (the two main options always appearing to be injured), it just makes a lot of sense.

Bukayo Saka has filled the void left by Kieran Tierney and Sead Kolasinac but he can’t do it forever. While he has filled in expertly, his natural position is as a winger, so to pin any defensive onus on the youngster is unfair.
It was reported recently that Leicester City was interested in signing Kieran Tierney if they lost out on Ben Chilwell. So, I would argue it makes perfect sense to offer the Scotsman in a swap deal.
Obviously, it would be sad to see Tierney go after just one season, as he has been somewhat of a cult hero given his impressive performances when he has played. But Arsenal needs someone they can rely on in this position, and Chilwell offers exactly that.
Express recently reported that Chelsea have opened talks with Leicester City over his sale, so there’s no denying there would be competition. However, wouldn’t it be great to see a league rival disappointed, as well as a position strengthened from our perspective?
I must stress this is all completely hypothetical, but I would love to see Ben Chilwell a topic of interest at Arsenal.
