Blood is certainly thicker than water. With that being said, Arsenal fans are starting to panic about this promise Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang made to his grandfather…

Sometimes it’s easy to forget, but football players are human. Yes, they may be much richer humans than the rest of us, but their core values remain unchanged, family being one of them. Arsenal fans have learnt this too much in recent weeks.

With the whole situation regarding Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, his family have been known to get involved. Which is to be expected, they only want the best for his career, after all. His father, for example, reposted a picture to social media of Aubameyang first signing for Arsenal.

However, now there is a different side to the story which fans must adjust to. It’s not all positive, as it never is being a Gunner. According to The Sun, Aubameyang promised his grandfather before passing away that he would play for Real Madrid.

So, of course, Aubameyang is going to be swayed by the recent interest. Anyone with a brain would be. Real Madrid is showing an increased desire to sign the Gabon international, so it’s bound to be an attractive proposition for the striker.

In terms of what’s on offer, Arsenal simply does not match up to Real Madrid. As a fan, this is the sad truth. However, what we can offer Aubameyang is our full support, in whichever decision he pleads to make.

After all, he has been a loyal servant to the Gunners up until now and he has been respectful in never speaking out to the media about his desire to leave. This sometimes makes me question whether the rumours are true since they have never come from his mouth, but I suppose you have to talk all tabloid talk with a pinch of salt.
