It’s been a long time coming, but Real Madrid is now in a much better position to secure the signature of Mauricio Pochettino…
I just want to put one thing out there; Real Madrid is by no means facing a managerial crisis. Zinedine Zidane is a safe manager and one of the best in the world. However, with Mauricio Pochettino linked with the club for many years, now seems to be the best time to bring him in.
According to a new report from the Telegraph, Mauricio Pochettino has left the “gardening” phase of his Tottenham contract. No, this doesn’t mean he’ll stop tending his daffodils. It just means he is free to sign with any club without Tottenham receiving a fee.
This is handy to Real Madrid should they wish to sign Mauricio Pochettino, especially during the uncertain Coronavirus market. It means that they can focus their funds elsewhere, rather than paying Tottenham a fee. The Argentine would also be free to tend the Santiago Bernabeu daffodils if he so pleases.

Pochettino is renowned for being one of the best managers in the world and although it didn’t work out for him in the end at Tottenham, his progress shouldn’t be overlooked. He single-handedly transformed Tottenham into the team they are today and although he won no major honours, he did bring up some incredible young players, including Harry Kane and Dele Alli.
For Real Madrid fans, I suppose this a win-win. Two options can come out of this, and they’re both very attractive. Either Mauricio Pochettino signs, and the club obtains a world-class manager, or Pochettino doesn’t sign, and the club keeps their current world-class manager.
Real Madrid fans should be laughing at this news, but the board, on the other hand, have a decision to make.
Do you think Real Madrid will sign Mauricio Pochettino as boss this summer?
