Arsenal fans should know the name very well…
When it comes to Arsenal transfer news, the patterns tend to remain the same, and for good reason. Mikel Arteta‘s two main objectives this summer are to sign a midfielder and a striker, with a left-back option thrown on the side if possible.
This is because it’s essentially chip paper news that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will probably move away from the Emirates Stadium this summer, with the likes of Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid interested in his services. Since he has been Arsenal’s main talisman for the last few seasons, they need to sign a striker to replace him fairly soon.
According to a new report from L’Equipe, the Gunners have reignited their interest in Moussa Dembele of Lyon. Not only that, but they have also made contact with his representatives, so there may be some truth behind this news.

Am I saying it’s time to get excited? No, that would be naive of me. As an Arsenal fan, it’s a downfall to be excited this early, and it’s best to wait until we see more progress, to hear back on how the contact has gone.
Dembele is a rapid forward who, like Aubameyang, tends to score goals for fun. This season with Lyon, he scored 22 goals and provided 2 assists across all competitions before the season was declared void. He is an avid finisher who shows plenty of aplomb, as well as the ability to dribble with the ball at his feet.
Ageing at just 23 years old, he is bound to set his suitor back a lot of money. That said, it may be difficult for Arsenal to get the upper hand over Manchester United since they are financial powerhouses. However, playing their cards right and potentially involving a swap-deal could give Arsenal the advantage in this pursuit.
Do you think Arsenal will sign Moussa Dembele?
