2. Curtis Jones

A Local 19-year-old who has progressed his way up the Liverpool ranks since the under-9s level. During his progression, he has earned a reputation as an impeccable passer of the ball.

He helps his side breakaway on the counter-attack or plays a clinical through-ball to his strikers. In the Premier League, though, he’s only managed 2 appearances thus far – coming off the bench both times to help his side win twice.

It was during the FA Cup that Curtis Jones probably then went on to score the best first goal for Liverpool that he could have ever imagined. A sublimely taken shot curled into the top right corner from the edge of the box sent Anfield into an uproar as the reds knocked their Merseyside neighbours, Everton, out of the FA Cup 3rd round.

Liverpool fans, then, have seen a good indication of Jones’ potential.

A player able to start deep in the heart of midfield, driven by his passion for the club and his individual determination. We’ve seen that Curtis is a player with the ability to read a game well and to make important tackles in the middle of the pitch to drive his side forward.

So far, he’s living up to the reputation he earned as a youth player. His potential to possibly gone on to fill the void left by fellow local legend, Steven Gerrard, is a sentiment that is becoming popularised amongst Liverpool fans.
