Arsenal set to make a move for this Lucas Torreira replacement

The wheels could finally be turning for Arsenal.
When news broke the other week that Lucas Torreira wanted to leave Arsenal to play in Italy, I felt my heartstrings being tugged. Literally. Torreira is one of my favourite players and I think I share this belief with a majority of the fanbase; our midfield wouldn’t be the same without him.
But this got me thinking; just because the midfield won’t be the same, it doesn’t mean it will be worse. Arsenal could sign a replacement for Torreira, since he isn’t exactly irreplaceable. After all, the system isn’t necessarily built around him so he is not *too* essential. Or maybe I just want to believe that.
Either way, a replacement is on the horizon, and it’s a name Arsenal fans should already be familiar with. According to the Dutch outlet VI, the Gunners are set to make a £23m bid for Orkun Kokcu, the Feyenoord midfielder who seems to be attracting interest from a lot of European clubs.

With Jaap Stam describing Kokcu as the best young midfielder in the Netherlands, Kokcu would arrive with a big reputation already, despite ageing at just 19 years old. That said, if he can make his way into the starting XI ahead of Matteo Guendouzi, then he will have a terrific future ahead of him.
Kokcu can also play as an attacking midfielder, but he is much better suited to the box-to-box role, since this is the role he carries out with Feyenoord. That said, the defensive side to Arsenal’s midfield may still need a reboot, but Kokcu isn’s exactly defensively inept, and ageing at a young age, his traits are easily malleable and can be worked on at this stage.
Under Mikel Arteta, Kokcu would receive the right guidance. He will be aware of this, and he may be tempted by the exciting project that Arsenal have going on at the moment.
