Arsenal fans won’t feel as confident now.
As a pessimistic Arsenal fan, it’s very rare to feel confident. Especially in the transfer market, where the fundraiser you are relying on goes by the name of Stan Kroenke. It’s a recipe for disappointment, especially when you take into account the instalment of Nicolas Pepe has to be paid come the new season.
I don’t mean to be a downer, because I know there are still plenty of options to have a successful transfer window, I’m not naive to those. These include, primarily, free agent signings and player swaps, but these will still be challenging.
One of the more prominent names being linked with Arsenal this summer is the soon-to-be free agent Ryan Fraser, who currently plays for Bournemouth. According to the Athletic, though, he is set to be one of the most sought after names in the summer transfer window, which is to be expected given his talent partnered with his contract situation.

Now, does this mean that Arsenal should give up? No, of course it doesn’t. After all, this would fix absolutely nothing. There’s no harm in trying. However, it just means that it’ll be a struggle and the Gunners will have to go beyond money in order to persuade Fraser to join.
For example, they will have to persuade the winger through Arteta’s exciting project. Arsenal may not be in the position they want to be right now, but they will be if Arteta’s plan continues to come into fruition.
Another thing that Arsenal must get right is to keep ahold of the high-calibre players they have available to them right now. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the dream to play alongside for any forward, so the Gunners should consider tying him down to a new contract before continuing their pursuit of Fraser.
